West Mercia are proud to announce the signing of two of long-term hire agreements at Onpoint Logistics and their sister company Deltrans Express.
David Pugh of West Mercia originally discussed the hire of a gas truck with Anthony Delaney, Director of Onpoint. Their previous supplier had supplied three different forklifts in 9 months none of which were fit for purpose.
During a site survey at Onpoint’s Sutton Coldfield premises West Mercia identified that there was a large storage area below a mezzanine floor that wasn’t being used and it was suggested that a truck with a full free lift mast would open up this area for storage. When asked about the extra space, Anthony replied ‘Yes, we have never been able to use the truck under the mezzanine floor, if we could go under the floor, it would be extremely valuable and add another storage facility in this depot.’
Following the discussions at Sutton Coldfield West Mercia were then asked to look at a hire machine at the Saltley operation – during the discussions it transpired that Onpoint were very keen on their branding and so David suggested that we paint both trucks in the Onpoint/Deltrans livery of blue and red. The colours were matched exactly and the two machines, which match the companies van fleet, have now been taken on 5 year terms.

“Dealing with West Mercia has been an absolute pleasure. I am extremely happy with the one point of contact at West Mercia. Dealing with a family business similar to ourselves really gives me reassurance in our material handling requirements. West Mercia have also fulfilled all our requirements, and we now have a large number of pallets stored under our mezzanine floor, which has left us with a lot more room in our depot. I wanted to hire the trucks off West Mercia because they had offered to paint the trucks in the specific paint codes we use for our vans, and when I went to see the trucks, they look absolutely fantastic, in fact, they look brand new. I also made a special effort to thank West Mercia engineer Mark Roberts who was the engineer who painted the trucks.’
