The company rely on their fork trucks to ensure the delivery deadlines promised are met. To ensure the standards are maintained, FGF needed to invest in new replacements. The replacement trucks needed to be robust, quick, agile and reliable to cope with the fast moving demands put upon it..
Mick Reid of FGF says, “West Mercia have been the preferred choice service provider for many years. West Mercia’s David Stanley carried out a comprehensive site survey and proposed the Doosan Pro 5 Diesel series truck, supplied with a powerful engine, also recommending we increase the current load capacity from 2500kg to 3000kg, ensuring greater safety when handling the large size boards we supply.
However, as we were in the market to purchase new replacements, we needed to satisfy ourselves on buying the right truck. We therefore, invited several fork truck manufacturer’s to compete for the business, resulting in us trying out other top brands to compare on site. After trialing a number of other manufacturers trucks we compared performance, strength of build and operators likes and dislikes.
The outcome proved the Doosan truck to be the right choice for us based on its strength of build, powerful engine and its tight turning ability, coupled together with a very attractive purchase package offered by West Mercia.”
