Kevin Downes Transport Ltd, based in Telford, was founded by Peter Downes in 1984. Starting off with just one man and a van, the family run company has seen huge success spanning 34 years, now distributing goods throughout the UK with an ever growing fleet.
Peter Downes contacted West Mercia as their Fork Lift Truck had reached its 19th birthday. The machine was very tired with numerous faults which was greatly hindering their operations. Pete popped along to West Mercia’s Telford branch to look at our range of used forklifts and spoke to Mark Mitchell, Depot Manager where he detailed his concerns with their current equipment. He was looking for a solution fast, and we suggested our short term forklift hire in Telford.
Peter was shown various different machines and the process all our machines undergo in getting them ready for the end user. A 2500kg Doosan G25P-5 LPG Counterbalance was supplied immediately on a short term hire basis to swiftly get them back up and running. Peter and Kevin were that impressed with the truck provided they decided to purchase it the same day.
