R Adams & Sons are a family run bulk haulage company based just outside Henley-In-Arden in Warwickshire. The company, now managed by brothers Mark and Andy Adams, has been established for over 65 years and has massively expanded over the last few years, now running over 50 lorries on a daily basis. They specialise in bulk grain and aggregate haulage and have in recent years expanded into the aggregate supply business to local developers, building & landscape companies, as well as the general public.
The fleet consists of articulated tippers and 3 x blower trailers, which are TASCC registered enabling them to haul grain, whilst they have many 4 & 8 wheeler rigid tippers for smaller aggregate loads. They also have flatbed trailers and a HIAB unit for use when needed.
Mainly working with larger agricultural machines around the yard, Ian Young at R Adams & Sons required a small forklift to help with other areas of the business such as handling palletised bagged products and loading customer vehicles with bulk bags of aggregate.
Being a fellow family business they decided to call West Mercia Fork Trucks to quote for a machine, also knowing that West Mercia was a family business.
West Mercia promptly quoted a used Doosan machine to Ian and Andy at R Adams & Sons, and with a bit of negotiation agreed a price that worked for both companies.
