UK Cables is the country’s leading supplier of cables and accessories specialising in cable procurement and distribution. It has recently taken delivery of two top of the range, brand new Doosan Gas counter balance Fork lift Trucks for its West Midlands depot .
UK Cables has been a long standing customer of West Mercia since 1999 when it was based in Perry Barr, Birmingham but due to its continued success and expansion it has now relocated to much larger premises in West Bromwich.
“We run a fleet of 13 forklift trucks consisting of reach trucks, man up order pickers, pedestrian stackers and counter balances. Within our fleet of counter balances we have two 2500KG that carried out the majority of our work. With the expansion of our business the workloads on these trucks increased to in excess of 50 hours a week which in turn was reflected in an increase in maintenance costs.
It was at this point that our account manager from West Mercia Fork Lift Trucks Mark Pugh approached us and suggested a more cost effective way of meeting our material handing needs.
